While I don’t recognize reincarnation or “past lives”
as a truth, I certainly recognize these themes as great metaphors for
healing. My own direct experiences of “other lives” is that
they are concurrent, happening now in this very powerful moment, yet
at one level, through our collusive agreement we have decided to imagine
time. Time serves us up many avenues for healing and many apparent venues
for coming to realize our Divine Self and our multidimensional selves.
Past life regression does not require a belief in reincarnation in any
way (unless the therapist is restricted in their own protocols and system
of requirements for the clients). But for those that want to pursue
written documentation and commentary on evidence manifested through
time, the books below are excellent.
Ian Stevenson, MD.
-Where Reincarnation and Biology Intersect
Ian Stevenson, M.D., is the Carlson Professor of Psychiatry
and Director of the Division of Personality Studies at the University
of Virginia. Based on some 30 years of research on people who claim
to remember past lives, this work is the brief version of Stevenson’s
detailed opus on his research Reincarnation and Biology
and it encompasses the full spectrum of theory and case study on the
subject to date. Early in his investigations, Stevenson became aware
that some who remember past lives had birthmarks or birth defects that
corresponded to wounds, usually fatal, on the person whose life was
remembered. Writing as a scientist and a Western medical professional,
Stevenson realized that the idea that wounds on a deceased person
can influence the embryo of a later-born baby is subversive to many
assumptions of modern biology. This work provides as many cases
as could be found, worldwide, and is bolstered by numerous photographs.
Carol Bowman -Children’s
Past Lives: How past life memories affect your child.
Carol Bowman starts with relating the spontaneous past life
regressions of her children. These experiences drive her to investigate
what is known about past lives in the scientific community and within
the field of psychotherapy. She includes a very practical guide for
parents on identifying the four basic signs of a past life memory and
summarizes the esoteric beliefs of various religions regarding past
lives. The book is written in narrative form and is very easy reading.
